Kaberle Traded Before His Bobblehead Night

Kaberle Traded Before His Bobblehead Night

The Carolina Hurricanes had four bobblehead nights planned for the 2011-12 NHL season:

November 14th – Jeff Skinner – Left wing for the Hurricanes

December 3rd – Tuomo Ruutu – Right wing for the Hurricanes

January 20th – Joni Pitkanen – Defender for the Hurricanes

March 30th – Tomas Kaberle – Defender for the Hurricanes

The first two bobblehead nights passed without any happenings, 10000 bobblehead being handed out at each game, but only six days after Tuomo Ruutu bobblehead night did the Hurricanes announce that Tomas Kaberle had been traded to the Montreal Canadiens for Jaroslav Spacek.

This obviously brought up a burning question, will Kaberle bobblehead night still continue as planned or would we be down a bobblehead night? What originally was planned as Tomas Kaberle bobblehead night was slyly changed over to Jamie McBain bobblehead night. So fans got the best of both world, an un-cancelled bobblehead night as well as that bobblehead being of a current player, Jamie McBain.
